Position Overview:
Parents Anonymous® Inc. is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Peer Workforce Recruiter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to identifying and recruiting individuals with lived experience to participate in the Peer Workforce Program. Through outreach, guidance, and support, you will help participants navigate training, certification, and employment pathways in the behavioral health field.

A Peer is an individual who is self-identified as having lived experience with the process of recovery from mental illness, substance use disorder, or both, either as a consumer of these services or as the parent or family member of the consumer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct targeted outreach at community events, job fairs, libraries, clinics, and partner organizations to recruit at least 7 eligible individuals per month.
- Assist participants with training registration, platform setup (Canvas and Zoom), eligibility documents, and financial aid applications.
- Facilitate orientations, career counseling, and support plan development tailored to each participant’s goals.
- Complete enrollment, assessments, and required documentation (e.g., Career Plans, ISPs, Mental Health Needs).
- Provide trauma-informed case management and continuous engagement through training and certification processes.
- Coordinate stipends and connect participants with support services (transportation, childcare, housing, etc.).
- Track progress and certification milestones (exam scheduling, certificate numbers).
- Monitor post-training activities including job readiness tasks and work-based learning.
- Maintain ongoing communication and documentation in Smartsheet and other systems.
- Collaborate with Employment Developers to support participant job placement.
- Conduct follow-up surveys at 4, 6, and 12 months post-certification.
- Attend and participate in all required trainings, supervision, and weekend activities as needed.
- Complete Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification and CEUs within required timeframes.
Qualifications:
- MUST VERIFY THAT YOU ARE A PEER (WITH LIVED EXPERIENCE): A Peer is an individual who is self-identified as having lived experience with the process of recovery from mental illness, substance use disorder, or both, either as a consumer of these services or as the parent or family member of the consumer.
- Must work 2 evenings a week and weekend hours as needed.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English highly preferred; additional languages a plus.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have at least a high school diploma. Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field is a plus.
- Prior experience in employment development, workforce placement, career counseling, outreach, or peer support services is strongly preferred.
- Strong Communication & Outreach Skills: Ability to engage, recruit, and collaborate with employers, community organizations, and peers in various settings.
- Experience assisting individuals with resume building, interview preparation, and job readiness is a plus.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed to attend job fairs, outreach events, and meet program deliverables.
- Must be technically proficient, particularly in maintaining accurate documentation of outreach, placements, and follow-ups using tools such as Smartsheets, Excel, or other tracking systems.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving and relationship-building skills.

- Must have well-developed computer skills.

- Must have a working vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and have the ability to go to work and outreach in the surrounding area.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 – $30.00 per hour
