Position Overview:
Parents Anonymous® Inc. is seeking a driven and culturally responsive Peer Workforce Developer (Bilingual Preferred) to build and maintain strategic relationships with employer partners, coordinate peer placements, and support peer employment success. You will play a key role in developing work-based learning (WBL) opportunities and post-placement support systems for certified peer support specialists. This role requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills to support career matching, placement tracking, and partner engagement.

A Peer is an individual who is self-identified as having lived experience with the process of recovery from mental illness, substance use disorder, or both, either as a consumer of these services or as the parent or family member of the consumer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and contact potential employer partners monthly through presentations, networking, and outreach.
- Maintain detailed documentation of outreach, interactions, and partnerships using Smartsheets and other systems.
- Coordinate placements and resolve issues with employer partners.
- Track interview outcomes and employer follow-up through surveys and performance evaluations.
Peer Placement and Support:
- Collaborate with Peer Workforce Recruiters and Trainers to match certified peers with suitable paid or volunteer roles.
- Coordinate Work-Based Learning activities such as job shadowing, training, and coaching aligned with peers’ career goals.
- Conduct placement workshops (resume, mock interviews, etc.) to support job readiness.
- Facilitate at least 5 peer placements per month and document accurately.
- Support peer and employer partners for 6-12 months post-placement to ensure satisfaction and retention.
- Provide re-placement assistance when necessary.
General Duties and Program Alignment:
- Complete Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification Training and pass the CalMHSA Exam within 90 days of hire.
- Participate in required trainings and organizational events.
- Uphold professional standards including confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, and person-centered practices.
- Maintain schedules, communications, equipment security, and accurate records using Outlook, ADP, and Smartsheet.
Qualifications:
- MUST VERIFY THAT YOU ARE A PEER (WITH LIVED EXPERIENCE): A Peer is an individual who is self-identified as having lived experience with the process of recovery from mental illness, substance use disorder, or both, either as a consumer of these services or as the parent or family member of the consumer.
- Must work 2 evenings a week and weekend hours as needed.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English highly preferred; additional languages a plus.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have at least a high school diploma. Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field is a plus.
- Prior experience in employment development, workforce placement, career counseling, outreach, or peer support services is strongly preferred.
- Strong Communication & Outreach Skills: Ability to engage, recruit, and collaborate with employers, community organizations, and peers in various settings.
- Experience assisting individuals with resume building, interview preparation, and job readiness is a plus.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed to attend job fairs, outreach events, and meet program deliverables.
- Must be technically proficient, particularly in maintaining accurate documentation of outreach, placements, and follow-ups using tools such as Smartsheets, Excel, or other tracking systems.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving and relationship-building skills.

Pay: $28.00 – $30.00 per hour
