Position Overview:
The Non-Profit Accountant will conduct select accounting operations and handle administrative duties with regards to Billing and Payables and other related financial activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and prepare for approval and payment all Payables for accuracy and timeliness.
- Process approved invoices and monthly bills from vendors though Bill Pay system at the Bank.
- Prepare checks for vendors when assigned.
- Review American Express expenses and ensure accurate receipt and documentation.
- Review and prepare for approval and payment all approved Flexible Spending Account reimbursements.
- Prepare and document on Tracker grant category expenses and documentation for each Funding Source.
- Participate in Med-Cal Billing for Mental Health Services
- Report on new hires to Benefits Consultant.
- Set up new Employees for Onboarding Process in HR Cloud.
- Review and sign off for accuracy and appropriate documentation in Zoho system for processing Employees’ reimbursable expenses.
- Assist in preparing assigned documents for Annual Audits.
- Maintain a detailed SMART Calendar of due dates for all accounting tasks, activities and functions.
- Create, maintain, and utilize a SMART Task List for all Job Duties.
- Performs all fund accounting based on GAAP: Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Promote all Evidenced-Based Parents Anonymous® Programs.
- Implement all Job Responsibilities with professionalism, and commitment to the vision, mission, and goals of Parents Anonymous®.
- Accept feedback and demonstrate increased competencies.
- Document start time, meal out and in, and end times in Smartsheet
- Maintain accurate daily Outlook calendar and share with Director of Finance
- Attend and actively engage in all required training and weekly supervision.
- Implement all Parents Anonymous® policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Respond to all staff emails and communications rapidly and thoroughly to foster an atmosphere of teamwork.
- Manage all information containing sensitive/confidential content with utmost discretion and adherence to all relevant policies and procedures.
- Must secure and is responsible for computer, laptop, monitor and all Parents Anonymous® equipment assigned
- Must be able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged period of times.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
- 3- 5 years of accounting experience
- Experience in using Financial NXT nonprofit accounting software
- Knowledge of Nonprofit fund accounting
- Experience with Medi-Cal billing

Pay: $31.00 – $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
